NIKE GOLF | "THERE'S ALWAYS BETTER"

Over the past decade, golf has been rapidly growing more and more interesting. The game was changing and new athletes were emerging.  There was a new excitement around the sport that had put golf on everyone’s radar. In the ultra competitive category that golf is,  Nike Golf had two assets that no other golf brand had.  These assets, one could argue, spearheaded much of the change and excitement the sport was experiencing. Those assets were Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy - the two best golfers on the planet. Not only were they the best, they were also game-changing athletes. In the golf space, it is rare to have so much talent under one roof. Expectedly, Nike Golf wanted to take advantage of this rarity and make a statement that leveraged these two superstar athletes in a way that helped define and differentiate Nike Golf. 

At that time, Rory and Tiger were on opposite journeys. Usually when you are talking about two elite athletes, they are both on top of the world. However, both of Nike Golf’s great athletes were in rare form. With Rory, he was emerging and sparking talks of becoming the next legend. With Tiger, the world was experiencing the reinvention of a legend. Despite going in opposite directions, these two great athletes were accomplishing something few golfers could hold claim to. They were redefining the future of the sport.  With their personalities and games, they each represented different approaches to the sport. Tiger, a hell-bent perfectionist that is robotic on and off the course. Rory is a machine on the course, but once he steps off he becomes that nice guy next door. Even with their differences, they were always pushing themselves to become better and better and better. No matter how good they became, they knew there was always better.  

With this campaign, we wanted to show these two athletes unique games and personalities. Along with showing their differences, we wanted to show their similarities and how they were changing the future of golf. In a voice that could only be executed by Nike Golf, we highlighted their unique relationship throughout the campaign. Rory grew up idolizing Tiger, constantly trying to get better as Tiger set the bar impossibly high. And now that Rory and Tiger were on tour together, it was their job to set the bar higher for the next generation of golfers. We put the golf world on notice, letting everyone know that there was always better in this game, so get ready because here comes better.
