With Kevin Durant’s shoe release moving to the summer, squeezed between the shoe releases of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, we had to own summer in a big way for KD. With this campaign, it was essential we embraced KD’s love for summer basketball to inspire kids with the purity, excitement, culture and hard work of summer basketball. We also needed to own summer basketball on behalf of KD and Nike Basketball to get these sneakers off the shelf. As the ultimate summer player, KD embraced the summer to hit the playgrounds and enjoy the purity of the game. But it was also the opportunity for him take the chains off and add some new dimensions to his game. Everyone loves the summer time.
