JORDAN BRAND | KAWHI LEONARD "THE KAWHI QUESTION"

Kawhi Leonard is one of the NBA’s most unique talents and personalities. He possesses an uncanny set of skills on the court and is known to dominate with a quiet yet deadly demeanor. Coming off of one of the best seasons of his career, Jordan Brand wanted to make a statement about their rising superstar. Arguably the best two-way player in the league, Kawhi rarely gets credit for his offensive dominance. During the NBA Awards at the end of the season, Kawhi was up for Defensive Player of the Year Award. Jordan Brand wanted to take this moment as an opportunity to highlight Kawhi as not just a defensive player, but a full-fledged superstar.

Everyone knows Kawhi is a dominate defensive player. He can shut down the best in the game, but he can also get buckets on the best in the game. This moment was our chance to champion Kawhi’s complete game.  To do this, we posed the simple question - Offense or Defense? Could Kawhi Leonard score on Kawhi Leonard?  What better way to highlight his game than with a good old debate that's embedded in the roots of sports culture. But instead of having a debate like the ones we see every morning with Stephen A. Smith screaming at the world. We would use young yet seasoned debaters to pose the argument for offense and defense. The result was a fun, thought-provoking conversation around one of basketball’s most intriguing player and interesting personalities. Fans were able to join the conversation and add to the debate, but most importantly, Jordan Brand put the spotlight one of the game’s most important athlete’s in a way that was true to the brand and sports culture.
